CHANGES YOU CAN MAKE FROM HOME

Rethink How You Move
Use public transport: take buses, trams, or trains whenever possible. Fewer cars on the road = fewer emissions.
Choose active or low-impact travel. Walk, cycle, or try e-bikes and e-scooters for short trips. This reduces pollution and improve local air quality.
Drive smarter (or drive less). Carpool where you can, avoid unnecessary trips, drive smoothly and avoid idling. Service your car regularly for better fuel efficiency.
Reduce Your Food & Diet Footprint
Eat plant-based sometimes. Even one or two plant-based days per week can lower your carbon footprint.
Minimise food waste. Meal plan, store food well, and use leftovers creatively. Landfill food releases methane - a potent greenhouse gas.
Buy local, seasonal food. This reduces food miles, supports local growers, and keeps money in your community.
Cut Down on Energy & Water Use
Save hot water: take shorter showers to reduce both water use and the energy required to heat it.
Switch off lights & appliances. Turn off the lights when you leave a room. Switch appliances off at the plug - standby mode still uses power.
Manage your home climate: Before turning on heating or cooling, try opening windows, adding or removing a layer of clothing, using fans or closing blinds to regulate heat.
Choose energy-efficient appliances. When upgrading items, look for high energy-star ratings.
Take Climate-Positive Actions
Plant trees to draw carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Plant in your backyard, on your balcony, or support verified tree-planting projects in your community.
Recycle correctly. Sorting recycling correctly helps keep reusable materials out of landfill and reduces emissions from producing new items.
Offset your footprint. You can estimate your everyday carbon footprint and choose to offset what you cannot reduce.
